Our HLT32512 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance may open many doors in the health industry. Our course enables the graduate to become a competent member of a team within a hospital environment.
This qualification covers workers who provide assistance to health professional staff. The care assistance tasks are performed under supervision and may include cleaning duties, food service duties and nursing attendant duties. Common occupational titles may include Wards-person, Orderly, Patient Services Assistant (PSA) and Health Support Worker. These workers may also undertake additional tasks that may include cleaning, portering, waste handling and serving clients/patients with meals.
Graduates may apply for work within a hospital and other healthcare settings that may range from domestic work, through to food services and nursing assistant.

- Blended delivery that includes e-learning, on campus simulation based training/assessment plus work experience placement

Applicants seeking entry in to this course should meet the following criteria.
- Applicants should be 18 years or over at enrolment.
- Have successfully completed year 10 of secondary school or equivalent or be of mature age.
- Communication: applicants should be able to use and respond to written language including some unfamiliar material in a variety of contexts.
- Applicants are required to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy test (LLN) and attend an interview session during enrolment.
- A Satisfactory National Police Clearance Certificate will be required for the work experience placement.
- Working with Children Check, Vaccination/Immunization Certificate and Proof of Immunity (e.g. serology test results) shall be required for Work Experience Placement, as applicable.
- Applicants planning to do e-learning must have access to a computer with internet and basic computer skills.
- No prerequisite units of competency.
Assessment strategies are implemented for collecting evidence and making judgments about whether competency has been achieved by the learner. The assessments confirm whether an individual can perform to the standards expected in the workplace, as expressed in the relevant endorsed unit of competency. Students will be assessed in both formative and summative way. These assessment methods and strategies are consistent with the Training Package Assessment Guidelines.

Students who successfully complete all of the required units of competency of this course will be issued a testamur with the record of results printed at the back.
A statement of attainment will be issued if a student successfully completes one or more units of competency of this course, but does not meet the requirements for a qualification (as specified in the Training Package). The statement of attainment will list all of the units of competency achieved.
