Introduction to Electrocardiogram

Electrocardiogram (ECG) records the electrical activity of the heart. An ECG measures the rate and regularity of heartbeats, and the size and position of the chambers, any damage to the heart, and the effects of drugs or devices (such as a pacemaker) used to regulate the heart. The ECG is therefore an important tool to ensure healthcare professionals properly monitor the health of a client’s heart.
