About this Course:
Fire safety and emergency preparedness and management is a crucial part of any healthcare facilities infrastructure – with the safety of patients, staff and visitors. A fire must be attacked and contained quickly to reduce resulting damage and disruption to healthcare services. Once started, a fire can be difficult to contain without the appropriate equipment and fire and safety training.
Course Content
1) Legislation governing Fire and safety in the work place,
2) Emergency Codes
• Fire and Safety Equipment
• Raising the alarm
• Classes of fire
3) Types of fire extinguishers
• Responding to emergency codes and evacuation
• Fire safety and evacuation
Assessment Methods:
Participation in class discussions, oral and written questions.
Course Award:
On successful completion of the course, participants will be issued with a Certificate of Attendance
