IHNA Perth Campus
Located in the city, IHNA Perth campus consists of modern classrooms with, well equipped nursing laboratories, computer laboratory, library, student lounge areas and administration offices.
IHNA understands that first class learning facilities are a vital component of a successful training Institute. Therefore, improvement in Institute facilities is a fundamental component of the Institute's continuous improvement process. To date, these improvements have focused upon our campuses becoming centres of excellence in terms of health and nursing training.
IHNA classrooms are fitted with modern furniture and highly visual teaching aids so as to provide the best learning experience to the students.
IHNA nursing laboratories are well equipped to ensure clinical skills teaching is achieved in a realistic and effective manner suitable for practice based mode of learning in nursing and healthcare education. Nursing Laboratory sessions assist students to become familiar with clinical equipment, tools, nursing procedures and to practice their nursing skills. Students have scheduled laboratory sessions and unscheduled open access to the laboratory for practicing nursing skills during the length of their theoretical preparation. In the laboratory, sessions will involve use of clinical equipment, practice models and manikins, clinical tools, role plays and simulated activities reflecting real time events in clinical settings to facilitate learning.
IHNA's Ward-type Nursing Laboratories can cater for up to 44 students in three groups at any one time.
As a part of quality improvements in service delivery the nursing laboratories are continuously updated and improved with new equipment and facilities to accommodate relevant learning needs and provide the opportunity to practice and test commonly used nursing skills and interventions in a non-threatening environment.
Resource Centre and Library
IHNA has a growing Library and Resource Centre where students can find extra resources to help with their learning and chosen career path.
IHNA campuses have significant Computer Laboratories and Resource Centres with computer lines, with IHNA providing terminals that students are able to use for their own PC's. Each connection gives access to MIMS on line, EBSCO reference centre, Joanna Briggs Institute on line and IHNA's E-Learning resources.
IHNA provides all its students access to the e-learning platform which is active while they are in their enrolment period. E-Learning assists students to get a fast start to their studies by giving them access to course materials as soon as they enrol. It will also help students learn more about areas they are having trouble understanding, and to catch up on a class that they missed. It is another way that IHNA gives the very best learning environment for its students.
Mr Craig Langdon MP, State Member for Ivanhoe, officially launched the e-learning platform of IHNA On 13th August 2010 and IHNA started delivering courses fully online. The access to the e-learning platform is always available to students who choose to do on site courses.
